Another production year is upon us and there are some great exotic cars that will be making a debut for the 2017 production year. Maserati, Lamborghini, and Bugatti all have drop dead gorgeous cars for 2017, but so do a couple of others. Here are our favorites.
Chiron – Bugatti
The Chiron is one of the fastest exotic cars of 2017 with an expected 1,480 horsepower and torque at 1,180 pound feet that will put maximum speeds in the neighborhood of 288 mph – and that’s a pretty cool neighborhood. When it is available late 2016 or early 2017, production will be small – 500 units. If you are planning to put one in your garage though, you better start saving your pennies now. The Chiron will cost somewhere around $2.7 million.
Corvette Zora ZR1 – Chevrolet
Prepare yourself for what is anticipated to be the next generation Corvette – the Zora ZRI is it. Expected to be released in late 2016 or early 2017, reports hint at a switch to a mid-engine powertrain. You can look for a small block, supercharged V8 with lots of horsepower – and also hints at a possible C8 for a quieter ride during acceleration. With major improvements both inside and out, this car will certainly wow. Look for a price tag that starts at $150,000.
GT – Ford
Sexy, aerodynamic, and futuristic all describe the new 2017 Ford GT. Expected to make its appearance in late 2016 or early 2017, Ford has worked hard to maintain the original essence of this American favorite. Sure, they tweaked it a little with a body weight of around 2,800 for better acceleration and handling as well as a V6 3.5-liter twin turbo engine that can generate 650 hp. The price tag will probably start at around $400,000, but it will be well worth it. How sweet would this look in your driveway?
Asterion – Lamborghini
Lamborghini’s first electric-gasoline hybrid supercar is rumored to be released at the end of 2016 (the Italian car maker is staying mum regarding its release) and is expected to command $548,000. The body style stays true to the Lamborghini profile, sleek and sexy. Under the hood it will have a 610 hp generating V10 engine. The interior will also get nice upgrade for a more comfortable cabin which translates to a more comfortable ride. Although there is no official word yet, the time seems pretty right. We’ll just have to see.
Alfieri – Maserati
Maserati, one of the supercar giants, has been brewing the Alfieri since around 2014 but its time has finally come to debut as one of the best exotic cars of 2017. Incidentally, the Alfieri is the namesake of one of the founding Maserati brothers; just a bit of exotic car trivia for you. The base powertrain is a V6 3.0-liter twin turbo and it will only go up from there. The exterior is typical Maserati sleek but there will be a hard top as well as a convertible model available. Price will start at around $100,000.
