When it comes to hypercars, few names command the respect and admiration that Bugatti does. Known for combining blistering performance with luxurious design, Bugatti has produced some of the most iconic and expensive vehicles in automotive history. Two of the standout models are the new Bugatti Tourbillon and the Bugatti Chiron—each an engineering marvel in its own right.

While the Chiron has become a benchmark for performance-focused hypercars, the Tourbillon is an exclusive masterpiece with a design inspired by Bugatti’s heritage. But how do these two compare when it comes to specs and performance? Let’s take a look.

The Bugatti Chiron, first introduced in 2016, took the hyper car world by storm. At its core lies an 8.0-liter W16 quad-turbocharged engine, delivering a staggering 1,500 horsepower. This engineering marvel rockets the Chiron from 0 to 60 mph in under 2.4 seconds, making it one of the fastest road-legal cars in the world.

The Chiron’s design philosophy is rooted in both function and beauty. Its aerodynamic, aggressive lines serve not only to impress but also to slice through the air at high speeds. The signature C-line curvature on the side is a visual nod to Bugatti’s design legacy, while the carbon fiber construction ensures that the car remains lightweight and agile on the road. Inside, the cabin is a mix of luxury and technology, tailored to the needs of a driver who demands both high performance and comfort. Leather and carbon fiber trim dominate the interior, blending elegance with a sense of speed.

However, exclusivity is what truly defines the Bugatti Chiron. With only 500 units produced, it is a car destined for the elite few. The base model starts at around $3 million, and for that price, owners are offered extensive customization options—from exterior colors to the finest interior materials, ensuring each Chiron is as unique as its owner.

As of 2024, Bugatti has confirmed that the Chiron will no longer be made, marking the end of an era. This isn’t a mere business decision—it’s a deliberate move by Bugatti to honor its heritage and pave the way for new innovations. With the final Chiron delivered, Bugatti is turning its focus toward the future, and the Tourbillon is the next chapter in this story.

While the Chiron may no longer be in production, Bugatti’s journey is far from over. Enter the Bugatti Tourbillon, the next chapter in Bugatti’s hypercar legacy. As the successor to the Chiron, the Tourbillon picks up where the Chiron left off, carrying forward Bugatti’s tradition of speed, luxury, and cutting-edge technology. Bugatti plans to build 250 Tourbillons, and deliveries are expected to begin in 2026. The Tourbillon is poised to push the boundaries of automotive engineering in ways that will set new standards in the hypercar world.

Fun fact: In partnership with jeweler Jacobs & Co., the Bugatti Tourbillon is named after the tourbillon, a mechanical watch component that helps increase accuracy by rotating to counteract gravity’s effects. There are only 72 pieces made, making it an authentic limited edition piece complementary to the rarity of the Tourbillon.
